About Us

In April of 2007 Andy Jonassen and his four daughters, Bekah, Abigail, Julia, and Diana purchased the inventory and customer base of the  "The Country Variety Shoppe.".  A few months later  Andy (who grew up moving strctures all over lower Michigan, a  long time entrepreneur and contractor) moved home a building built in the late 1800's to use for a retail store, office and shipping location.
In June of 2007 the inventory and eqipment from the "The Country Variety Shoppe" were moved to our new location and the name was changed to  "Four Winds Fabric and More
This name was arranged in a hurry and proved to be unsatisfactry to all. In November of 2007 the name was changed to "Andersdotters" meaning "Andrew's daughters" in Norwegian which was derived from our Norwegian ancestory. This name has proved much more to the liking of all involved and promises to be a long-standing name for our business.

Since it's conception in 2007 Andersdotters has greatly expanded its inventory and product offering at its home location in Athens, Wisconsin. We have also expanded our mail order offering and customer base and currently offer a wide range of products to customers throughout the United States and Canada. For a detailed view of the products that we offer please jump over to our "Shopping" page or visit us at our location at 810 E County Highway A, Athens, WI, 54411.

To be added to our mailing list and recieve our samples please contact us at (715) 257-1031. Please be aware that we are very selective with our samples as we do not charge for them and so have to generate a certain volume of sales from every set to remain profitable. If you are currently receiving our samples we ask that you please pass them around to your friends and family so that we can continue to supply them free of charge. This method also allows for multiple orders to be shipped together and so gain shipping savings.

In November of 2008 Abigail married and sold her share in the business. It is currently managed by Bekah, Julia and Diana.
Our store is a work in progress. In the fall of 2008 we built a porch onto the front of our building and are currently working on completing the second floor of our building to make way for a new aspect to our services here.
Joel Jonassen has completed training and plans to begin offering sewing machine repair under the name  "Anderson Sewing Machne Repair" .  He will be offering complete machine repair and plans to expand into new machine sales as well.
We also plan to complete work on the exterior in the near future.  In the mean time we have just finished installing new shelving for our material and are working on deploying a complete e-commerce solution to better serve our customers.

If we were to recieve any reviews it would be on the interior of our building. Built in the late 1800's, it features original hardwood floors and bead board wall coverings. Although some necessary changes have been made, we have striven to leave the interior as original as possible to preserve it's look and feel.
If you would like to take a step back in time we invite you to stop by and take a look at this bit of history that we possess!
